Lace Dresses

Have been seeing a lot of cute lace dresses lately - here are three I'm loving:

Vest - perfect for all weathers!

I love vests.  What's not to love about something that keeps your torso warm without restricting your arms?   I've passed my love of vests down to Brad, who rotates between two vests everyday.  Just today I was lamenting to my nanny that they ought to have newborn vests ... Toby would look extremely chic in a little quilted number.

I scored an awesome 3.1 Phillip Lim vest this weekend at my favorite consignment store. Brand new with tags, originally $423, got it for $30!!!  I plan to wear it with a black tank top & skinny jeans.

Lace Shorts

 I normally don't watch the Bachelorette but my MIL came to visit and got me addicted.  Emily Maynard is sporting the best wardrobe ever!  I am in love with the lace shorts she wore in episode 9.  She's wearing it with a white Elizabeth & James blazer.

They're sold out everywhere but I did find them at Kitson.

There is also a skirt version which would be awesome for a night out or weddings (I am trying to find a reason to justify this purchase!)

Real versus Steal: Hermes Collier de Chien Bracelet

I am LOVING the Hermes Collier de Chien bracelet (Richard - if you're reading this - hint, hint).  Look at this amazing one in rose gold and diamonds!

Peplum, Peplum Everywhere

Lately I've been seeing peplum everywhere.  Since it defines the waist so well, it works equally well with both skinny and curvy women.  Paired with a pencil skirt it looks uber femine.  Paired with skinny jeans and a belt and it's immediately chic.  Here are some of my favorite looks.

This is an Alice & Olivia look.  You can re-create the same look by pairing a basic striped peplum top (I saw one at Zara for under $20) with a yellow belt!

Incidentally, a woman in my pilates class had the Birken version of this bag today and it's a fantastic bag!  It's lined on the inside, and it's got a flat bottom which makes it easy to tote around a ton of stuff neatly. 

Real vs. Steal: Proenza Schouler PS1 Bag

One of my favorite bags recently is the Proenza Schouler PS1.  This bag is the perfect mom bag because it's roomy (I fit my wallet, a large cosmetic case, a pad of paper and a bottle of water), lightweight (lambskin), and can be worn as cross body as well as a satchel. 

I found this copy the other day and it looks darn close to the real thing at a fraction of the cost.  The website says it's genuine leather, which is darn impressive for $92.

What I Want Right Now: Stripe Knit Tops

I am completely obssed with striped tops right now - I just can't get enough of them!  For me, the perfect stripe tops needs to be 1) medium/heavyweight cotton 2) boatneck, 3) three quarter sleeve, 4) have interesting details like buttons or sequins. 

I finally found the perfect striped top at Jigsaw (Fillmore Street) last week.  The brand is Kew 159 which is their sister brand.  The material is a medium weight cotton which does a fabulous job at hiding the bulges (it feels very similar to the Saint James nautical tees sold at J. Crew for $85).  There is a cute button detail at the shoulder which makes it standout from other stripe tops.  Available in both red and blue (I got the blue).  On sale for $52 (regularly $75)
